The Rotary Foundation

The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is poised to change how the world thinks about resolving conflict and securing peace. Committed to doing good in the world, Rotarians have developed the Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution program. The program offers individuals committed to Rotary's ideals the opportunity to pursue a master's degree or professional development certificate in international studies, peace studies and conflict resolution at one of eight leading universities around the world. It is anticipated that 370 fellows will have completed the program by December 2008 and be in leadership and support positions within governmental and non-governmental organizations throughout the world — the number of graduates will continue to grow each year.

The fellows complement the good work Rotarians are doing to build peace in communities around the world. Rotary clubs are developing projects that bring a multitude of talents together to assist those in need. Rotary International's expansive network of 1.2 million Rotarians in more than 200 countries and geographical areas, along with non-Rotarian volunteers, help make international, educational and humanitarian programs possible. The hallmark of The Rotary Foundation is promotion of peace and understanding through these programs. To accomplish this mission, The Rotary Foundation makes grants that fulfill humanitarian needs in all areas of the world and support educational opportunities for students, faculty and professionals who are dedicated to enhancing international goodwill.
