The Sky Is Not Falling
Of course, no one knows for sure what will happen to the federal estate tax. And it may happen, because of surprising developments this December in the Senate, that the repeal will actually take place. Sixty Senators now seem to be saying they'll vote for it.
But even if they do and the federal estate tax actually is repealed, there still would be plenty of work for estate planners. The nature, not the volume, of their work, will change.
